Move

Flowy, sophisticated, intelligent movement class.

Laurie developed this mat-based sculpting class after a decade+ as a movement teacher, barre studio owner and teacher trainer. Born out of the desire to move in all the ways she loves, in one class. Drawing from the best of Pilates and barre strength training, blended with yoga’s opening, stretching and release, and set to an incredible and diverse playlist. We move to the beat of the music, creating coherence in our bodies on a cellular level. We may use props like yoga blocks, light handheld or ankle weights, a Pilates ball or resistance bands; or just our bodies moving in space. Wind down with a short meditative moment or a more formal guided meditation, depending on class length, to soften the body and calm the mind.

Move Cardio

If yoga, Pilates, barre and dance had a baby.

All the juiciness of Laurie’s Move format, with the addition of intentionally placed cardio and/or plyometric movements to improve heart health and respiratory function (aka breathe more fully, increase oxygen in-take, and be able to bring in more life force energy), move stagnant energy, create more space (physically & energetically), encourage lymphatic flow, release of feel-good hormones, and so much more. The addition of cardio bursts in this class is f-u-n! So fun that even cardio-avoidants love it. Choreography from start to finish is thoughtful, science-backed and purposeful, so while we may be up-ing the intensity, we do so in an alignment-based and safe way. Walk away feeling lighter, freer and more joyful.

Mat-Based Movement Classes

After almost two decades of teaching alignment-based movement classes, this is Laurie’s take on a full-body workout blending principles from Lotte Berk (barre), mat Pilates, ballet, yoga, core work and flexibility to strengthen, lengthen and tone. The perfect feel-good workout for those looking to create a dancer’s body and strength, with little to no impact. Modifications for injuries and pre/post natal students offered. All levels welcome.

Yoga

A flowy Vinyasa class, with alignment and safe movement as a priority. Set to good music, Laurie’s spacious, thoughtfully-guided classes use yoga asana, breath, and meditation to soften your edges, reorganize your energetic body, recalibrate your nervous system, and strengthen your physical form. Laurie is known to also thread in her knowledge of neuroscience, personal growth, and spirituality as appropriate, supporting you in moving and being well, well beyond the mat. All levels welcome.
